The reserve is open daily from 9am to 6pm. Visiting outside of these hours is only available through reserve membership - to obtain this please look here for details.

We thoroughly recommend bringing a pair of binoculars and a basic bird book to help you get the most out of your visit - wildlife is wild - you need patience and a keen eye.

The car park facilities house male, female and disability access toilets. The disabled access toilet, hides, ticket machine and sightings boards are always available within standard opening hours.  The reception hide with viewing gallery is open during wardened hours.  Currently this is weekends and the majority of weekdays.  Contact us before setting off to avoid disappointment.  Picnic tables available.

Access to most of the reserve is via easy access paths in general, though the few mown paths can become muddy in winter. Currently the D Reservoir reception hide, North Marsh, Hempholme Meadows, North Lagoon, South Lagoon Main and South Marsh East hides are wheelchair accessible.  We have a mobility scooter available for loan by advance arrangement.
Tophill Low has an excellent low level photographic hide.  Please note this is members only due to the sensitive nature of its location.  For details on this please see the membership page.
